Marisol Roman was born in 1965 in Manta, Ecuador. Soon after she immigrated to the United States in 1987, Marisol took her first art class. Knowing that she had good drawing skills, she began to explore other mediums in addition to her pencil. She worked with pastels, watercolors, oil paintings and ceramics throughout her continued college education.
Of all the mediums, she felt oil painting on canvas was the most rewarding; it certainly created a path to follow. She really enjoyed the medium and decided to master it.
While in college, Marisol considered many career choices within the field, both in studio art and art history, but it wasn’t until 2006 that she decided to be an artist for both worlds. She earned a B.A. in Art with a minor in Art History from UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio).
Presently, Marisol continues to expand on her work and create new paintings on canvas. When not in her studio, Marisol enjoys blogging for a Spanish audience as a way to educate other art lovers and students. Her online audience has been very vocal in praise of her work. Visitors have shared many accounts on how she has helped their own artistic education and endeavors. Marisol feels extremely happy that she gets to share and help so many likeminded people around the world.
